“Why are you choosing GLV to study English?”
“What’s the difference between GLV and other training schools?”
A lot of friends have asked me the same questions; it’s difficult to explain in a few words. I did some research before I came here; the information informed me that there are many special things in GLV, and I am a person who likes fresh feelings and challenges.
I have been here for two months already, and I really want to share my feelings with everyone. I named it “The GLV Style” because I think the environment here is unique in China.
The first important rule you must follow is “English Only”. I started to speak English all the time when I came here on October 28th. There is a joke “If you can’t talk in English, no food for you in the dining room.” In GLV, everyone is required to communicate in English, even the staff as cleaners or cooks.The special teaching method is “Total Immersion Experience”. If you are here, try your best to forget Chinese. One day if you are dreaming in English, congratulations! That means you have already achieved success.
Second, GLV has many excellent teachers from different countries, and each of them have amazing skills. We can choose our favorite topics in the electives or workshops and evening programs. Adam teaches boxing; Jerry brings music; Neil leads us to research on psychology; Jene helps us to dig into the human problems; Ron directs us to make our own movies; and so on. The teachers give students all the knowledge in different ways, such as debates, games or sports. Students are studying their interested topics; the result is “One stone kills two birds". We have class everywhere, in the kitchen, in the coffee shop, even in the gym, and so on. Do you believe that? I have never seen this in other schools.
The other thing that attracted me is the mixed cultures. I am so lucky because there are many festivals during the end of the year. Halloween, Thanks--giving day, Christmas and GLV’s 14th anniversary, full of parties, full of joy. Western people like to party so much, they celebrate everything. During these parties, students learn international histories and cultures.
Moreover, you can make a lot of friends here. In this small village, wonderful teachers, kind staff and lovely students comprise a big family. “Open your ear, open your mouth, open your mind, open your heart”, people from all over the world will become your best friend. GLV’s gate is open to everyone.
The students in GLV are happy，relaxed，joyful, and improve their English naturally & unconsciously. This is the real “The GLV Style”. If you are planning to study English, welcome and join us please!

“为什么你会选择到平和学习英语呢？”
“平和英语村与其它英语培训学校有什么不同呢？”
许多朋友都问过我这些相同的问题；只言片语很难解释清楚。我在来平和英语学习之前，做了一些查询，从资料来看，我感觉平和英语村非常特别，存在很多新鲜的事物，我刚好是一个喜欢挑战新鲜事物的女生，这里简直就是专门为我而设的。
我在平和学习英语两个月了，我很希望与其他英语学习爱好者分享我学习英语的方法和在平和学习英语的感受。我把这儿称之为“平和式风情”，因为在我眼中，平和英语村的教学环境与传统中国教育环境极为不同。

在平和英语村，最重要的黄金条例就是“只能说英语”。我于10月8日第一次来到平和英语村，便开始了说英语的人生历程。有一句笑话“如果你不说英语，在食堂就领取不到食物”。在平和英语村，每个人都必须说英语，甚至负责清洁和食堂的工作人员都被要求说英语。平和英语的浸泡式教学方法独树一帜。如果你在平和，最好尽可能忘掉中文。如果有一天你做梦都在说英语，那么我想对你说，祝贺你，你成功了！
其次，平和英语村有很多优秀的外籍教师，他们每个人都有很让人赞叹的技能。我们在选修课程和互动课程，可以选择自己喜欢的课程主题。老师Adam教授拳击，老师Jerry教授音乐，老师Neil带领我们探测自己的心灵世界，老师Jene帮助我们深入了解人类世界的问题，老师Ron还会传授给我们制作与拍摄电影的技巧，等等。这些外籍教师以不同的方式传授给学员知识，例如有辩论赛，游戏和运动。学员们学习他们感兴趣的课题；达到一箭双雕的效果，既学到知识，又满足了兴趣和爱好。任何一个地方都是我们的教室，例如，厨房，咖啡厅，甚至在健身馆，等等。你相信吗，我还从没有在其它学校见过如此特别的教学法呢！
各国文化大融合，是另外一个吸引我来这里的原因，我感到非常幸运，因为年末在这儿有很多庆祝仪式，有万圣节，感恩节，圣诞节和十四周年校庆，充满了欢喜，充满了派对，西方人非常喜欢派对，因此他们庆祝每一事物。在这些派对期间，学生可以学习到其它国家的历史和文化。

Three month ago, I made a big decision. I quit my job because I was afraid I would die in front of the computer or the telephone. I was an operator in a big travel agency. It’s a busy and tough job, sometimes I had to get up at mid-night to solve the emergency problem.
三个月前，我做了一个很大的决定。我辞去了工作，因为我害怕我将会在电脑和电话之间度过一生。我之前在一家大型旅行社工作，职位是接线员。这是一份非常忙碌和艰巨的工作，有时我不得不在午夜起床解决客户紧急问题。
“It’s time to change, I need to improve myself!” I considered for a long time. Finally, I chose to study in GLV and make a new start. Because I believe that English can help me know the world better.
我考虑了很久，“是时候提升自己了！”最后，我决定选择平和英语村，展开一个全新的人生，因为我相信掌握英语能让我更好的来噢届这个世界。
Someone said that English is the bridge to the world. It is very useful in business negotiations or education. Nowadays, English has become an international language because it has the simplest grammar and it can be easily learned by different people all over the world.
有人说英语是通向世界的桥梁。在商务谈判和教育领域非常实用。现今，英语已经成为一门国际性语言，因为它有最简单的语法，并且能够轻易被来自全球的人们掌握。
I’m very happy that I made the right choice when I arrived here on October 28th.
当我于10月28日抵达平和英语村时，我非常高兴我做出了正确的决定。
First, I like the unique teaching methods called “Total Immersion Experience”. My friends asked me: “Why don’t you study in Shenzhen? There are more English courses than in Zhuhai, and it will be more convenient for you.” Yes, there are hundreds of training schools in Guangdong, but “English Only” is here. GLV wants to improve our communication skills but not so much paper work which Chinese people are good at.
首先，我非常喜欢平和独特的“全封闭、浸泡式、纯英语”教学环境。朋友问我为什么不在深圳学习呢？那儿的培训学校比珠海更多，而且深圳对于我来说更便利。的确，广东有成千上万的培训学校，但是“English Only”的环境仅平和一间。平和英语村希望帮助我们提高交流技巧而不是像中国应试教育所提倡的死记硬背。
Second, the staff here also very kind, they prepared to help with whatever you need. For us, GLV is not only a school but also a home which is full of warmth, joy and love.
其次，这儿的工作人员非常友善，他们随时会帮助你解决学习生活之需。对于学员来说，平和不仅仅是一间学校，而且还是一个充满温暖，快乐和爱的大家庭。
And most importantly, GLV has many excellent teachers from different countries. They bring us interesting cultures. You could understand the “UK gentleman” when you meet Mark or Jimmy; you could grasp the “USA life style” if you see Adam; Kevin M like to tell you how smart Indian people are; but Kevin B always enjoys showing you how crazy American are , and so on.
最重要的是，平和英语村有很多优秀的来自不同国家的老师。他们给学员带来了新奇有趣的民族文化。当你遇见老师Mark和Jimmy时，你会彻底了解“英式绅士”的定义；当你遇见老师Adam时，你会见识地道的美式生活；老师Kevin M会告诉你印度人民是如何的充满智慧；老师Kevin B却无时无刻不向众人展示美式疯狂，等等。
The time in GLV is like a short journey. Maybe tomorrow we have to say goodbye to each other. But I strongly believe that the special experience will help us keep moving, achieve success and connect us to the world!
在平和英语的时间就像是一次短途旅行。也许我们明天就会说再见，但我坚信与众不同的经历会让我们成长，取得成功，最后走向世界！
