July. 8^th

Form a good habit of it (好习惯要养成,好方法可速成）

I was really lucky that I had a chance to study in GLV, it's really an another world. It helped me a lot, not only learnt some new words, but also made a lot of friends, including my teacher. what's more,I have improved my self-confidence a lot. I really appreciate teachers there ,they are very patient , kind and funny. I don't know how to discribe it.   

Journal everyday （天天写英文日记）

Before I knew little about foreigner, but now I know much more than before, although I still can't say lots of it. during my stay in GLV, everyone kept an journal everyday,now I  can write whatever I want, it's really fun. Maybe ,firstly you can't see your progress clearly, of course, you can't, but after a short time you will find you have improved a lot. Studying English needs perseverance, you should form a good habit of it.

Poor writing is better than good memory.（好记性不如烂笔头）

GLV provides a good environment for us, wherever you go, you should speak english,even for the computer in stdent center ,TV programmes in dormitery.just English is accepted . Sometimes, you don't know how to express what you want . It's really a hard time for you, but when you make yourself enderstood,you 'll feel happy indeed. If you don't know how to discribe, just use your body language, then you will know a new word, don't let it go, just make a note, using your own words to discribe it in English. When you need to use it again, it doesn't matter if you can't remember, just refer to the notebook,I think if you have done it several times,you won’t forget it.

Just speak up.(英语大声说出来)

GLVThe biggist difference from other English school is its total immersion enviroment.Like a big family.Staying there you can feel the care from your friends, the teachers and the staff.You may make friends with all the pelple in GLV.You can talk with them in class, over meals, during the tea break. you can talk about your job,your family, your friends with anybody,they won't refuse to talk with you. everyone don't want to lose the chance to speak,so just speak up!

Mistake & Ask (不要怕犯错，不要怕提问)

GLV also help you to know how to learn English by youself and how to keep it when you leave there.The people there may inspire u, because you can find someone who have learnt there for long time and they never give up . they have the real passion for English. Some of them still can't speak every well,but they are not ashamed to speak up ,althouth few people can understand them.many teachers have said: if you don't make mistakes,you will not succeed,so welcome to make mistakes! I also know a teacher's second aphorism is ask,it means any time you encountered with problem ,you should ask,no matter how foolish it is,just do it.in GLV  I just feel I always be boosted self-confidence , how happy I was when I made something I had done.

July. 9^th

Today is my second day in GLV. I found myself improved. I can express what I want .what's more,I can make joke with teachers and schoolmates.I like Brad,a teacher of my morning skilled teacher.I also like Laurie,he taught me a lot.

You would learn a lot when together with others.(三人行必有我师)

At the begining of the evening class,Laurie wrote his name at the top of the board first, second he wrote "please don't help".third, the  sentence is NO CHINESE.then he said a lot which the general idea is  listening to others , speaking up and not being afaid of making mistakes  is every important .we talked everthing.he told us that we should pay attention to all the small things around us.He is very patient.when we talked about "mineral",I didn't know the meaning.so he wrote "Mg Fe Ca......”on the board,I still could't catch it cause I couldn't see it clearly.What made me appreciate is he continued to explain instead of ignoring my question.At last, I saw. I was so happy for my effort to come to know and Laurie's effort to make me understood were paid. he is so kind .I also learnt a lot from classmates. one of them came from Fujian,who is a staffr in AA.maybe he has the same age of me, I'm also admire him .his English is good except for some  pronunciation mistakes.I think one day I could be better than him ,maybe join in GLV as a teachers.That's my dream,too.haw-haw.

July. 10^th

Today I find myself not nervous and shy as before,I can speak up as my teacher said. but sometimes I'm still scared  just because I can't express myself accurate as well as I'm afraid of making mistakes.

Beautiful story and beautiful song (英文歌帮忙学英语)

 
In the morning, I had a nice time in the main hall. After  breakfast ,James introduced an English song  named《 love to be loved 》which was written and sung by Marc. Marc composed it for his wedding ceremony ,his bride was greatly touched .I loved it very much at once, because of not only the beautiful story but also his real feeling. James asked us to learn four or more  songs in two weeks.

Complement with other's advantages（博采众长 每天亦有新体验）

During 1:30 to 3:30 pm, I atteneded the elective class, the topic is"what do you think will happen to our world after 20 years". it's given by Jonathan, a Filipino. his pronunciation is a little different from ours. I can't understand him very well, but he was also  very humorous and kind.

During 4-5 pm, I attended the workshop,the topic is "Do you want to improve your listening?'' First,we played a game which the rule like  we whispersd to each other a sentence, in which the words' pronunciation was similar leads to trouble to say it. neither team won.at last. After that, we listened to a tape about  A Remarkable Speech  by a  12-year old girl, I found myself can't catch   it ,and for many sentence, i even couldn't understand a word.how sad i was~! but Shelia, the teacher of this class is also from the Philipine. She speaks very smoothly. her pronunciation is perfect.since then I enjoy her class,it's a feast for the ears!

To keep no secrets from each other (无话不谈 天南海北皆有缘)

I'm very happy because I found a good friend,Susan. She is very kind and open. I like to talk to her. after supper, we walked around GLV and shopping in a shop nearby while have chatting a lot about our own.that's a real feeling.

In the evening, it's also very interesting. I went to ''free talk''which was given by Shelia. We wrote down our questions on a paper and handed it in. We had discussed every question asked by students, although can't answer all. when we talked about "when people fall in love with each other, why it is hard for them to to get out?" the atomosphere was higher and higher.A man told us his experience with his girl friend. it's interesting. although his english was not good enough,he tried out during that time, still couldn't help using Chinese, all of us laughed. I admire him because he can speak up no matter how many mistakes he made. I should learn from him.

July. 11^th

The stagnating period (瓶颈期)

How Time flies! I don't think I have enough time to learn more. Although I have a lot of free time, I can't made full use of it. I'm confused what should I do more, talking to my friends ,practicing listening or reading more? I want to talk to teachers, but I can't start the conversation freely. when I saw my roommate talked with teachers, I suddenly realized that I can start the conversation by asking questions. but I don't have any profound question to ask. I am afraid if  I ask a silly question, I will be laughed at.I think I’m in the stagnating period of English learning.

Operation ability (动脑也要动手)

In the morning, we leart some ways to give and ask for suggestion. and we made a role play by two persons one team. In the afternoon, I entered the art world in 20th centery. we searched the net and enjoy some pictures. then we made some handmade  things such as plastic bag,carboards,papers, crayon,bottle,etc. it's so hard for me ,I never try this before. also,my  imaginition is poor. I racked my brains, try to draw an  ugly picture,the topic is “peace and clean of the earth”.

In the workshop, I attended the cross culture communication. We talked about the difference of it , and expressed our opinions by each group .whatever  you said ,teacher would praise you which gave me much more confidence.

Rich and colourful topics （丰富多彩的话题体验）

In the evening, I joined Susan's class. she is interesting,someone in her class often played tricks on her which drove her crazy but made people present laugh. This class was for level 2. but it doesn't matter for me. We talked about Thailand's ladyboy、Susan's hometown “ Inner Mongolia”、her travel path something. We also had an honor to hear a girl's fantastic singing, it conqured me. “Shoes” was our last topic which ended my evening program, Our girls are very curious when we talked about that due to our nature sense.

July. 12^th

My favorite teacher (我最喜爱的老师)

Today is my fifth day in GLV, I'm so happy because I met a new teacher –Dee.

In the morning, I woke up early to complish my homework. after the Reading Plus, James taught us another song . it's a sad song. but I didn't have so strong feelings as before. its name is《that’s why you go away》,then I attenned the skilled based class. during the class, a photographer came in and we were taken a photo together of L5B.

In the elective class, I attended the Sandra's class whose topic was making clothes. we disscussed the tools for making clothes and see some picture about it and we each drew two picture about outlet of evening and beach style. In the end, I just finished a picture for evening party. from the class, I learnt a lot new words about clothes

In the workshop, because Sally could't borrow the pots to cook, so she couldn't teach us how to cook italy food.but another topic she designed was very interesting,too-Murder Mystery. we were divided into two group,each member was given a clue of the murder and a worksheet to fill, then we will find the difference between describes of each role's statement. we must ask each other question, and if you want to find out the truth, you should be clever enough, I felt as if i were a real detective.

It's much more interesting in my evening class. it's given by Dee. he is very young and lovely.He taught us to play a kind of card. then we talked about other things, such as if he has any girlfriends,where he is from. he is so ''childish'' and ''selfish''. I like him very much. ……

GLV gives me lots of fun, I like the teachers and the students here~!
