Single-Parent Families Jim Wang 王海波

In China or in the world, there are many single-parent families. The reason for single-parent families is the parents divorced or one of them died. And the other parent won't marry again. I think the dis-advantages are more than the advantages for children who live in single-parent families. Although some children who grew up in a single-parent families are more mature than the same age children, there are many dis-advantages for single-parent families' children. The first, if a child has only a father or mother, he/she maybe turn to a bad person easily. Because the father or mother has no time to take care of the children, he/she needs to work to earn money to support the family. The second, taking my cousin's case for example. My cousin studied very well when he was in elementary school. But when he was 13, his parents divorced, and the he didn't finish his middle school. Generally specking, single-parent families would change the children's life. It would give more stress to the children emotionally, and make them feel embarrassed when other people asked about his/her family. So, I think the dis-advantages are more than the advantages. 单亲家庭 Jim Wang王海波 在中国或者在世界，都有许多单亲家庭。造成单亲家庭的原因是离婚或者父母其中之一丧偶，而另外一位并没有再次结婚。 我想对于小孩而已，成长在单亲家庭中始终弊大于利。 尽管一些在单亲家庭中成长起来的孩子会比同龄孩子成熟，但也有很多不利因素是不容忽视的。首先，孩子只有爸爸或者妈妈，他/她可能更容易误入歧途。因为爸爸或者妈妈需要一个人赚钱养家，便不会有足够多的时间照顾他们的孩子。 其次，以我堂兄的家庭为例，小学的时候，堂兄学习非常好。但当他13岁时，父母离婚，之后他连中学都没读完就辍学了。 总的说来，单亲家庭可能改变孩子的一生。它会给孩子的带来很大的精神压力，在被问及自己家庭的时候他们会感到很尴尬。 所以，我认为单亲家庭对孩子来说，弊大于利。 Teachers：Ring.X(4D),Mohan.D(4C),Rose.T(4B),Alain.C(4A),Muazzam.R(3D),Girlie.C(3C),Dulce.B(3B),Rah.S/Guoying.L(3A)
