简述 :I was moved by Hans's story when I talked to him.
And I asked him, "Why not write down your story?"
Two days later I received the story below.

LOVE OF LIFE

Many people have similar feelings as me, and I hope I can speak out and write down my

story in English. It’s a free

release of heart.

         My dream came true when

I started English study at GLV.

I felt excited every day there. I

was as eager to learn more English as the deer is to find the stream. Life was changing every day. When you love life, life will reflect love to you.

永青--一份永青的事业

Such as my work. I work for a non-profit organization (NPO) which helps poor farmers in Shanxi Province with medical training, education, agriculture, and community development. We

help people without asking anything in return

because there are so many people who have

hearts filled with love. They care about others,

and they show their caring by donating money,

their skills, their time, and their love.

       My company “Shanxi Evergreen Service”

has a long history. Its name Evergreen comes

from a real story – the story of a Norwegian

man known as “Evergreen.” He was a missionary

who lived in Shanxi from 1921-1939. He did a

lot of work for Hequ, a county located in the northwest of Shanxi, near the Yellow River. His wife was a doctor. In China at that time, there were many wars – civil wars, and in 1937 the war of resistance against the Japanese began. All the Chinese had to face Japan’s aggression. Many families were broken, people were hungry and homeless, and thousands of people died from Japan’s bomber airplanes.Evergreen supplied food and shelter for common people. He and his wife also treated and cured many injured and sick soldiers.

At that time, Norway and other countries were neutral.

The Japanese invaders wouldn’t bomb the places if their

countries’ flags were raised on

their buildings. But Evergreen’s work annoyed the enemies. In 1939, Evergreen’s yard was bombed by Japanese planes. Evergreen died and was buried in Shanxi.

China’s open-door policy came into effect after t he 1980s. Though it came

later to Shanxi – later than other cities – Shanxi’s government invited the

Evergreen families (second and third generations) to come back to their adopted “hometown.” Now Evergreen’s grandson and many foreign experts are

living and working in Shanxi. Some of them have been in Shanxi more than 10 years.

我从远方来,为这些需要帮助的人们

I like my work. I was moved when people’s lives changed even a little bit in a poor village. These people were not forgotten by others. And I felt this was an extremely worthy cause.

I believe those who show love to others are the happiest people in the world.
