 Closer and Closer A Stranger 08—08—22 On the first day I had in junior school, our headmaster gave us some positions according to our grades. All that I remember is that I was praying I wouldn't be chosen as the English monitor. To my great despair, however, I became the right one. How bad!!! English was a true stranger to me at that time, I was really frightened. The next morning it was me who led the classmates to read. Almost everyone laughed at my Chinglish which nearly made me cry. "She would be the best at English, I believe, because at least she has tried her best!", at that very moment, my deskmate stood up and spoke those words which really cheered me up. English, the stranger, when could you smile to me? An Assitant While I was in high school, my grades were not so excellent. I was really unpopular then. But after a short time, my English grade took off, which gave rise to others' attention. Just within a year, I had been so hot around our school. As I walked past other classrooms, I would often hear someone say,"hey, she is the one, her English is so shining!!!". Nothing can have descriped my feelings at that time. English had become my assitant that helped with building my confidence. English, my assitant, I believe that you can assit me with more, can't you? A Friend Now I am going to study in the university and I have chosen English as my specialty . English has really become my friends. We will study together, live together and happy together. I will try my best to do better in English, in no way will I give up it. English, my friends, you will always cheer me up along the road of life, will you? I believe in you! Closer and Closer From a stranger to an assitant, then to a true friend, English has come closer and closer to me.
