简述:《“平和英语杯”我的英语学习之路》应征文,作者:薛艺玮,来自天津市南开大学 Melody of Happiness 薛艺玮 08-07-28 Almost 10 years have elapse since I initially began to learn English. Now I perceive there has been a close bond between English and me, not only because English itself is where my interest lies, but I gained a lot from it—love, perseverance, friends, happiness and some tastes of life. Coupled with English for years, I begin to realize it is love, commitment, friends, family, hard work and dedication that make for a solid foundation on which to create happiness and achievements. Right from the start, learning English had been fraught with difficulties when I was in primary school. I didn’t participate a lot in English classes and learned it passively. I always felt inferior to those who are good at English. But during the last year in my primary school, something changed my attitude. By chance, I was chosen to act as a leading role in an English play prepared for the Children’s Day. But by nature I was a timid child and acting in front of so many people terrified me. Mom encouraged me not to give up so I practiced and practiced, filled with fear. I still remember the day when I’m acting in front of the entire school, my knees were visibly knocking and my heartbeat was almost audible. But actually I finished my part better than expected. Our play turned out to be a big success and I gained high praises from my teachers. It is just like a sparkle that ignites my passion for English. That same year I also won the third prize in a national English competition and my confidence level soared. Now I still always think about these childhood memories. I learn that no matter what life throws our way, we should seize it and make the full use of it, because every change for the better equals personal growth. It comes from within and challenges our inner fear. But once we conquer the fear, step out of our comfort and safe zone, we can learn something new and become stronger. Ever since that I worke hard on English. I read English novels, learn English songs, watch English movies and subscribe English magazines. I grow more and more interested in it. The dribble became a brook, and the brook has become a torrent. It has always been an engrossing and satisfying pursuit, greatly enriching my life and enlarging my circumstance of friends. We all know friends do not fell from the sky like raindrops, instead they shoot up through the ground from a seed of common interest. Hao is someone like that. She is my classmate in high school and she has the same interest in English as I do. Her spoken English is superior and we always practiced together. We dubbed English films and sing English songs in English class and also helped teacher explain reading passages in our text paper to our classmates. It was a lot of fun. Hao was chosen as a representative to attend an English debating competition abroad and I also came on in leaps and bounds with my English. It is English that absorb our passion and light our blaze of friendship. She understands me and knows where my dream place is. Now in university, I choose English as my second major. By taking classes I’m making steady and constant progress. Everyday before bedtime I always like reading English books quietly on my bed. The words and passages pull me deeper into my own thoughts, making me totally ignorant of other trifle things. It is a cherishing moment in the bustling word and in our busy life. I also always tell myself to ‘hurry slowly’. English improving is a long process. So instead of only busily engaged in seeking achievements, we’d rather place more value in the experience and really indulge in it. Then you can find when you learn English you are not just learning the words but also learning to sway with the rhythm as well as your own melody of happiness. In my way of pursuit, I have just begun. The best is yet to come. 网络支持:Ruby&May
