简述:《“平和英语杯”我的英语学习之路》应征文,作者:徐媛婧,来自天津医科大学 What’s up? Close up! 徐媛婧 08-07-21 Well, I have to say, it’s been a long time since I met English; it’s beyond my description to express my attitude of gratitude to it; if someone asks,“Hey, what’s up to English?” Then I’ll smile and reply,“Close up!” I can still clearly remember what happened in my first English class. Because of attending school late, I missed some classes, so when I arrived, they could already speak in some simple English, such as: How are you? Fine, thanks, and you? Good morning, teacher! Good morning, class! I got numb when hearing these. It was also the first time I felt others were superior to me. At that particular time, I talked to myself,“I’ll make every effort to study English well. After school, I listened to the English tapes again and again. I marked the Chinese pronunciation under the English words, because I really didn’t know what to do with these words. I tried to pretend I was the same as others in my English class. When the teacher asked us questions, I made my mouth move like I was saying the answer, although I knew deeply in my heart I was lag behind, because I didn’t even know what the question was about. Time flied. After 2 months, the mid-term examination came. The English exam included listening, selections, cloze, and writing. Somehow I thought I did badly for I guessed a few answers. When the exam result came out, it was really a surprise to know I got 97 in my English which was ranked second in my class. The teacher told me that she never expected I could do so well, neither did I. The classmates began to consider me as one of the best. Only God knew the reason why I got high marks. It was only because I was lucky, when I guessed; I always chose the right answer. I regarded this experience as one of the monumental achievements in my life. After the exam, I overcame the inferiority, and fortune seemed to favor me all the way to my approach to English. Well, of cause, there was no such fortune without hard work. Nearly 12 years have passed since my first English class, during this time; I gained several prizes in National English Contest for College Students, got excellent marks in both CET 4 and CET 6, obtained the Oral English certificate, won the Prize for English Speaking Competition in my university, and also took part in the IELTS exam. When I speak to foreigners, they ask me,“Have you been to abroad? How did you learn your English so well?” The answer would be“ I’ve never been to abroad. The reason is because I love it.” It is English that fulfills my life and bring me so many accomplishments. Now I can tell proudly that I’m so close to English. As a post graduate student, I have to read English articles, write English assays, and join academic seminars in English. In other words, it is both my good teacher and wise friend. I cannot live without it. Thanks to English that I didn’t behave awkward when I had the post graduate English interview. Thanks to English that I received so many appraisal as an interpreter in an international meeting in Qingdao. Learning English may not guarantee ultimate success, but the eventual pay-off could well be worth the effort. Achieving even partial success will benefit a lot to our future development. The whole process was like digging a tunnel. At first, everything was hard work, sweat, and darkness. But we just kept going, pounding, clawing, and scrapping and finally a small chink of light came, and then the chink got bigger and the sun came pouring in and all was bright. Hey, English, what’s up? Close up! 网络支持:Ruby&May
